Right before Thanksgiving '09, Luke awoke in Mayfield in the household of Giriko Loew and Naruto Uzumaki on 947 Beulah Street. Giriko and his two "sons" didn't get along much at first, as the father of the household was a loud, aggressive, drinker which constantly pit him against Naruto, who was equally loud and aggressive. The family was forced to spend time together when Thanksgiving forced them into a closed, confined space with a bunch of food where they reluctantly got to know one another.
As Luke got to explore Mayfield and prepare to spend his first Christmas in this strange town, Mayfield reared its ugly head once again. As the first part of its Christmas event, it send every citizen ten years into the past, where a much younger Luke, Giriko, and Naruto teamed up to explore the town. It was during this part of the event where a younger Giriko vowed to protect the younger kids of the household, and would come to play a vital role in Luke and Giriko finally putting aside their differences and learning to bond as father and son. The second part of this Christmas event was where everyone was sent ten years into the future.
However, Luke's future was a pretty grim one. He lived alone in a house of drones, having being raised to accept that murder was acceptable. He had close relations with both B, Giriko, Naruto, and Claire, but unfortunately the town itself had slowly driven him to madness. He spent years experimenting on drones to see if death was an acceptable way to escape Mayfield, and when the results weren't turning out he found out he needed real people for his experiments. Enlisting B, Luke kept an ear out to find out if there was any deaths over Christmas.
At the same time, his future self discovered that his wife, Flora, had been murdered, which also drove him into a homicidal rage. He killed several people, including Luke's drone wife which Luke took a message that the town knew what he was doing and he would pay for his actions. In a panic, he killed three people and fought with his older self over his jealously over Flora. He murdered his older self and took the bodies back for experimentation while B assisted him by helping him cut up the corpses to place into a furnace.
Luke awoke from the event, thoroughly upset and convinced he would turn out just like his monstrous older self and spent much of his Mayfield life trying to figure out how he ended up like that. This event set the foundation of his character growth throughout his stay in Mayfield as he strived to become a better, stronger person. As Luke continued his life in Mayfield, he'd learned his first hard lesson about the town's cruelty. But despite this, he continued forward learning how to fight from a woman named May Lee and his brother Naruto. About a month later he would solve the puzzle B left for him during Christmas, which began the reluctant friendship between him and Luke.
The Monsters event came next, where Luke and several others were accused of the violent and brutal murders of several townspeople as punishment for the riots that took place just beforehand. With every new television announcement, there was a series of new murders and a new list of names of the "murderers" to go with them. Unfortunately Luke remained on the list with each new announcement, and he started to question whether or not he was responsible for the deaths, which included the deaths of his adoptive mothers, Roshian and Claire. Things began to get tense when other townsfolk offered to hunt down those on the list and demanded that the accused turn themselves in. The event ended with Luke and Giriko teaming up to break into the police station to demand answers, with an angry Professor and Med'an hot on their trail. But while the police station remained empty, Giriko and Luke broke Clive out of jail, who had turned himself in in hopes of stopping the murders.
After the Monsters event finally came to an end, Luke figured he can finally return back home with no further complications or issues. Unfortunately this was not meant to be as not too long afterwards, he found his two not!parents dead in the backyard after a dispute. Roshian had fatally wounded Giriko with a knife, and Giriko and cut open Roshian's stomach with his sawfoot. This would be one of the first of several murders within his little family.
But his family wasn't the only creepers he'd run into in Mayfield. After an attempt to befriend two twins named Hansel and Gretel went horribly wrong and resulted in Luke being saved by the Professor and Med'an, Luke was then given his own golem named Felix for his own protection. It was around this time that Luke first met Lucas as well.
As time passed, Luke went to his first school dance. Between figuring out who to go with and learning how to dance, it was here he'd meet a girl named Afghanis-tan and the two of them would proceed to do the dance of mutual blushing for the remainder of their stay in Mayfield. April Fools Day followed soon afterwords, in which the town allowed visitors from outside of Mayfield to talked to the trapped residents. Luke was able to get in one conversation with his father before the town cut him off from his family again.
Unfortunately this didn't last, as Mayfield had another trick up its sleeves. Unlike most events, regains were given to residents at the start of the event with a catch - that catch being is that every regain had something faulty with it. Luke regained his teddy bear, only to be possessed and go on a murder spree later. Thankfully his murder spree was stopped before anyone got hurt, but in order to stop him B stabbed him through the hand to make him let go of the bear. B then drugged him with morphine to stop the pain and sent Luke on his way, where the Professor found him and took him to the hospital. Following that was the announcement of a town called Westport.
Luke had gathered several notes while being trapped in Westport. He survived an encounter with hazmats and holed up in a house with Lucas for a while before he and Giriko stole a car and reckless drove it around Westport. Unfortunately on the final day, the poisonous air and water proved to be too much for Luke as he collapsed in the church on the final day, dying from poison. Roshian, who was in a similar state tried to take care of him despite knowing neither of them had much time left.
Afterwards was the Mother's Day event, where Roshian forced Giriko to clean for her and then proceeded to force him to kill Arachne. After she made him forget his memories of killing Arachne, he retaliated by punching her and damaging her eye which set her into a rampage that ended with her hitting Luke, and then days later she would then be droned for about two months. The sudden droning combined with the Mother's Day event lead to a rift in the remaining un-droned members of the family. Luke and his brother Latvia then ran away to Makeout Point, where the two of them fell and had to be rescued by Giriko. Luke tried to play the violin for Roshian in hopes that it would somehow snap her out of her droning, but instead he got an angry phone call from Billy Smith after playing the violin seemed to have some kind of effect on Jane Smith. Luke's older self and Flora were also droned shortly afterwards as well, and unlike Roshian they would not be back.
July 4th is when Roshian returned from droning, and the family was sent to Soviet Mayfield. Latvia was killed for not finishing his job, Roshian's leg was broken for not finishing hers. To avenge them, Luke and Giriko teamed up with Sealand and Woody in order to investigate around Soviet Mayfield to try to find a way to turn things normal again. A raid was led to blow up the Factory, which resulted in Luke being blinded as punishment when the town was returned to normal. Roshian snapped his neck and mercy killed him so that he'd return the next day fully healed.
Aside from a few family troubles, mostly which involved Giriko coming home covered in blood and Luke spending more time with B, the Post Office first appeared offering a deal where citizens could trade in box tops for regains. Naturally the real trade in was for things like memories, organs, and other nasty things. While Luke wasn't subjected to any kind of torture, he angered an insane Justin Law who beheaded Luke for damaging his car, which resulted in Giriko and Roshian going after Justin out of revenge. Because the family kept getting themselves in so much trouble, Giriko came up with the idea to put the house and its members under lockdown for a few days where they'd be force to spend much more time with each other. This was Luke's first introduction to alcohol and drinking.
Following that Luke spent a little bit of time at a summer camp right before school started up again. Unfortunately, not too long after the Professor was also droned, leaving Luke in the town alone. Before he had a chance to grieve too much about it, he regained a special bottle of Folsense gas which he accidentally unleashed on the town making people hallucinate strange things. This bottle of gas caused Giriko to hallucinate and murder the two other members of the household, which Luke would blame himself for their deaths. Right before it could truly break him, he was finally sent home for three years before being brought back once more.
Upon his return, the Smith family threw a party in which anyone who showed up was subjected to various cruel antics. Giriko tried to rescue Luke from Billy, who in turned forced Giriko to drink gasoline. Before the boy could stop him, Billy sliced off Luke's thumbs and B carried Luke off to the hospital where he met up with the rest of his family. Giriko snapped his neck in order to restore Luke's thumbs.
Sergei made his appearance around town after that, in which several houses were burned down and people were killed. Luke's family was unharmed during the event. Around Halloween, Luke was turned into a werewolf where he was captured and forced into a crate by B.
The Professor returned during the fall, and Luke began to spend more time with his mentor. During Christmas, Luke got a phone call from his parents telling him that they had a new child and would prefer it if he stayed in Mayfield. Despite this, the family still had a somewhat decent Christmas, despite that Arachne's droning caused Giriko to push himself away from the rest of the family. But only a month later most of Luke's family was droned in one night, and soon Luke along with them.
Things that changed:
-Luke became heavily desensitized to violence and death
-Was forced to cope to the violent things he'd seen by accepting that this was how things worked
-Gained a fascination for golems
-Started to become co-dependent on his family
-Gained knowledge on weapons, meisters, and witches from the Soul Eater universe, although a very biased perspective of it
-Started to become a bit more overprotective and a little bit of a creeper himself
