Does anyone know how to train a difficult Pokemon? Er, I mean, I don’t think Hoppip means to be difficult. I just don’t think he…understands a lot of what I try to tell him.

Hm, I haven’t heard from the Professor at all since I’ve been here. I’m guessing he’s really not here, huh? I sure do hope he’s alright…unless he was taken away by evil Sentrets or something like that. Considering I almost had my face eaten by one, I wouldn't be all that surprised.

I wonder how many of you out there are good at puzzles? Why not take a crack at this one?

[Poor Heather! Perhaps she could use a hint coin.] You're almost there, however the tea was in fact the same temperature. There's still one way she would've known though!

Er, I don't really trust sentrets after what happened on the previous route...what's your other pokemon? Some kind of dog?

Hmm. _{[Had she known what one was, she would use it shamelessly! ... But her dad raised her on too many mystery books for her to want to give up that easily, so...]} Did the lady, like, put something noticeable in the tea before she looked down and freaked because of the fly or something?

Oh man, you were there for that weird stampede too? That's how I got mine. I don't blame you for being nervous, I nearly jumped outta my skin when they swarmed me! Mine's not so bad though. I guess it learned I'm not somebody to mess with!

But yeah, uh, my other Pokemon is one of those... er. I guess they're called 'Growlithe'? I dunno, I really don't like dogs so I didn't pay too much attention.

That's correct! She did put something in her tea before discovering the fly!

If that strange man with the scary-looking dog hadn't caught it when he did, it would have taken off my face! And to think, I was only trying to help it after it'd been hurt too! I'm glad at least yours happened to learn some manners!

Wow, that must have been pretty scary, huh. Glad you're okay, in any case! I wonder if anybody got hurt during that swarm?

A... little TOO friendly, actually. I can't keep it away from me when it's not in that ball, and it drools... on everything...

That's absolutely correct, miss!

It was pretty scary for a while, but I haven't heard of anyone else being hurt. I guess wild Pokemon, no matter how they look, are much more dangerous than regular wild animals.

Haha, he sounds just like a regular dog then! I'd like to meet one!

Hey, you're really smart for a kid! I'm pretty sure when I was your age, I was still falling out of trees and trying to figure out how to transition from velcro to shoelaces, so consider me impressed!

_{[She agrees with the observation concerning the Pokemon, but doesn't comment on it-- considering she's used to a MUCH more bloodthirsty brand of local wildlife and therefore hasn't run into anything that's fazed her yet here. But she will eventually. And probably when she's least expecting it.]}

Heh, well, if it were any other animal, I'd be fine with it, but I don't really like dogs. But hey, if we ever run into each other in person, I'll let him out and you can play with him if you want!

Ah, thank you miss! I learned a lot of puzzles like this back home - the Professor taught me a few of them as well!

W-well, the Professor is very smart! [He's a little embarrassed now.] I'm trying to be just like him! He's a famous archeologist, you know! And detective! [Note: Professor Layton is not a real detective. =(]

An archaeologist AND a detective? Pretty cool! I have a friend who's a detective, too. _{[Though Douglas isn't the puzzle-solving kind so much as a dude that skeezy people hire to find other people, but you knoooow....]}

The poor kid would probably be pretty disappointed should he ever meet the real Douglas-- Heather loved the old man to death, but there was nothing glamorous about being a deadbeat, depressed old dude with an alcohol problem. And guilt issues. And accidental dealings with cultists.]} We-ell... I guess he's been on some adventures, yeah! And technically got me dragged into them, too.

Heh! Sure, why not! I'm sure mine would enjoy a decent scrap. I've sort of only been letting them run around after wild ones so far. You gotten to that Cherrygrove place yet or are you still making your way there? The rain set me back a bit...

She might not be the most conscientious person but she doesn't want to give some sweet little kid nightmares for a month.]}
