He gave me basic information about the world - the creatures, challenging the gyms, travel, what may or may not have happened to my swords, things of that nature. I asked him for his name; when I got that, I asked him why he was bothering. He said enough time had passed that he was willing to let bygones be bygones.

...of course, he also said that he imagined the others of you here would give me enough trouble as it was, and so there was no need to dogpile.
