[Luke happens to be up late outside the Pokecenter of Violet City, carefully watching his new Nidoran egg when a flash of light catches his attention.]

[Luke drops his bag standing up, revealing some new Pokeballs that Luke doesn't remember having on him. One of the Pokeballs click open, and a small flash of light appears in front of Luke. As the light fades, a strange-looking Pokemon stares back at Luke.]
