Puzzle 49 - [Video/Action for Goldenrod]

[All the video feed shows is a hospital room and Luke dressed in a hospital gown. His expression is blank, but he keeps fiddling with the Pokegear in his lap.

The hospital room remains completely silent, except for one message that echos through the room and over the network without stopping.]

[The message continues to play over and over for what seems like a very long time.

He's not ready to say goodbye.]

[Beep beep, tech support calling in. He could probably run through the Pokemon Center's records a few times, see if something's wrong with the number...]

Professor Hershel Layton.

[Luke doesn't stop dialing.]

He's not picking up.

[There's a pause before the response comes. Sollux has changed locations; judging from the red-and-white color scheme of the machines all over, it seems to be the technical control room of a Pokemon Center.]

...His Pokegear's been disconnected.

[Sollux keeps his voice at a monotone, but it's not as vitriolic as it would be on any other day.]

[Sollux confirms what Luke isn't willing to believe. In his head, he's running through all the scenarios that could've happened to the Professor. Every possible scenario except for the one where the Professor goes home.]

M-maybe something happened to it...

[Sollux keeps pressing buttons, looking for any hint of why the Gear went offline. Eventually, of course, he finds something, but... well, there was two possibilities of what happened to that Pokegear. The owner hasn't been seen in a while. So either he's lying in the middle of nowhere, comatose or weak or dead, or he's just up and disappeared. Considering how attached this kid sounds to the Layton guy, maybe mentioning all the terrible things that could have happened to him wasn't such a hot idea.]

No history of damages. Hasn't been found or returned to any Pokemon Center. Uh... sorry to say, but I think your Professor Layton has gone home.
