[Luke’s Pokegear turns on, and if you’re listening carefully you can pick up the conversation between Luke and an elderly woman.]
Are you sure you haven’t seen her?
Nope! Can’t say that I have, I hope you find her though sonny! Pokemon theft’s a terrible crime. But I ain't ever heard of anyone stealing a Pokemon by sticking their hand through a wall! I can't believe these criminals keep coming up with this newfangled technology, why back in my day...
Uhm, er thank you madam. I’ll keep looking.
[Luke reaches down for his Pokegear, not realizing the audio’s on and flipping on the camera. From behind him, the face of his Ursaring comes into view. The boy looks a little tired from looking for his Girafarig and so far he hasn’t found anyone who’s seen the mysterious thief.]
Hmpf, sounds like there’s been an awful lot of trouble in Route lately. I don’t suppose Team Rocket’s up to their old tricks again, are they? Seems like they’re a lot more trouble than I originally thought!
Uhm…
I guess since I haven't asked one in a while, does anyone want to hear a puzzle? Let me think of a good one...
"On a fine sunny day a ship was in the harbor. All of a sudden the ship began to sink. There was no storm and nothing wrong with the ship yet it sank right in front of the spectators eyes. What caused the ship to sink?"

Date: 2010-11-21 06:54 am (UTC)Uh, no...what's Sabaody?
[Really curious and hoping this will involve more marine storytime. 'u']

Date: 2010-11-21 05:07 pm (UTC)An archipelago made up of giant mangrove trees that stretch all the way down to the ocean floor. It's the last stop for pirates along the Grand Line before they hit Mariejois -- the world government holy City. So most of them take a route under the ocean through Fishman Island in order to get to the New World. -- And they do that by coating their ships at Sabaody with a resin from the trees that makes a giant bubble.
Remember the Battle of Marineford I mentioned before? Whitebeard coated his ships there so that he could try to sneak up on the marines.

Date: 2010-11-22 06:48 pm (UTC)Thank you, mister Smoker. With your help I'm sure we'll find her now!
[He listens to the story, man this place sounds so cool.]
A giant bubble, you say? I bet it gets really tricky to find those pirates if they can go under cities! So why do pirates travel under there anyway? Isn't it more dangerous for them?

Date: 2010-11-23 02:03 am (UTC)It is more dangerous -- hugely. There's many currents to keep track of, and being in the ocean is extra dangerous for any devil fruit user, so one wrong move and they'd die, but it's still less suicidal than going through Mariejois itself, and without one or the other they can't get to the New World to look for One Piece.
