Professor Layton and the Curious Village Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Affiliation: Trainer
Personality:
Luke is generally very kind and sweet to other people, as he sees it as part of becoming a gentleman. From time to time, he has the tendency of being cheeky, especially towards a person he sees as rude. He usually speaks his mind freely, which sometimes gets him scolded by Layton. He also has a tendency of acting before thinking, especially if he‘s suspicious of someone, such as when he tried to attack Inspector Chelmey thinking that he was the evil Don Paolo in disguise. Despite his brashness, he always tries to help someone if they need it, and he
Luke idolizes Professor Layton, to the point that it was he who made himself Layton’s apprentice, not the Professor. He tries hard to follow in the footsteps of his mentor, sometimes even mimicking his actions (pointing like Layton does when Layton isn‘t around). Also, he takes his role as an apprentice very seriously, even becoming defensive if someone questions his apprenticeship. Luke tends to be very curious about the world around him. The boy is very inquisitive and is always asking questions. Much like his mentor, he also shares Layton’s love for puzzles, but not to the extreme that Layton does.
Like most kids his age, Luke tends to have an overactive imagination. He gets scared by things like ghosts and vampires, and depending on the environment he‘s in, he‘ll be more jumpy and easily startled. He’s also a little naïve, especially about adult matters. Unlike the Professor, he lets his emotions show more often. He’ll lose his temper or become easily shocked by something. Or if something angers him, he'll let it show, even calling someone out on their actions if he doesn't approve of them. Sometimes, he’ll even give in to certain child-like temptations, like jumping on cushions of trains.
He loves animals, and has the ability to communicate with them. If he sees an animal, he’ll usually stop whatever he’s doing to greet it. Whether or not the animal reacts kindly to him is a different matter, because sometimes the animal will lash out at him no matter how nice he is to it. Nonetheless, he’ll always try to reach out to an animal that needs help.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: As a future gentleman-in-training, Luke's a very kind boy with a strong desire to help others. He's very bright, perceptive, curious, and eager to learn something new.
Weaknesses: Luke has a tendency to act without thinking, sometimes running into situations head-first without thinking about the consequences. And if he's afraid of something, sometimes he'll let that fear get the better of him, making it difficult to complete a task without help. Also, his own childish nature sometimes gets the better of him as well. Such as being brutually honest, making fun of someone, or just getting into mischief that could get him in trouble.
Pokemon
Starter: Going with the running gag in the Professor Layton series, a female Teddiursa named Mr. Bear?
Samples
First Person Sample:
Who on earth is that, Mr. Bear? You don't suppose she followed us in here, do you?
[Luke crouched down next to his Teddiursa partner, observing the Jynx that seemed to be dancing a few feet away from them. Of course, to Luke it looked like some insane woman who happened to be in the same cave as Luke and his pokemon. The Jynx swayed its hips back and forth to some unknown rhythm, causing the boy to look away from her in embarrassment and whisper into the bear pokemon's ear.]
Whatever she's doing, I don't gentleman like us should be watching. It isn't very appropriate.
[And with that, Luke stood up to quietly make his exit, hoping the woman wouldn't notice them leaving. He failed to notice Mr. Bear sighing in aggravation, having lost out on yet another battle.]
Third Person Sample:
Luke groaned as the sound of ringing in his ears woke him from sleep. Irritability, the boy tried rolling over and pulling a pillow over his head in a pitiful attempt to block out the offending noise.
"Oi, Professor, whatever puzzle you're working on, could you please keep it dow-" Luke immediately shut up as soon as he realized three things.
One, the Professor was no where in sight.
Two, he was no longer on the Molentary Express.
Three, the dreadful ringing from that strange clock still hadn't stopped.
Luke pushed away the blankets, trying to observe what was going on here. It looked like a child's room, all right, but it still didn't change the fact that it wasn't his room. Did he fall asleep on the train and the Professor carried him to a hotel room or something? Surely he couldn't be that far away.
...Right?
"Professor...? Professor! If this is some kind of joke, it isn't funny at all, you know!"
When he didn't receive an answer, Luke became even more worried. The Professor and Flora wouldn't just leave him in some place he wasn't familiar with, they couldn't have-
Oh no. Did that mean someone kidnapped him?! But there didn't seem to be anything stopping him from escaping. Alright Luke, just calm down, after all the Professor always said that one must keep a calm mind in situations like thes-
"Where did the Molentary Express go?!"
Well, so much for staying calm. The young boy was now moving around the room, examining anything he could get his hands on for clues. The fact that the room seemed specifically designed for a young boy creeped him out big time. Well, his kidnappers were going to be disappointed if they expected him to stay.
If he really did somehow get kidnapped, although how someone managed to kidnap him off a train was beyond him, but it could mean that the Professor and Flora were missing too. Maybe Don Paolo was up to his old tricks again! That was all the more reason to find them, fast! And-it was getting difficult to think with that strange music playing, where was it coming from?
Not thinking much of it, Luke made a dash for the door, accidentally knocking a strange red and white ball off the dresser. The flash of light that came next caused the boy to come to a sudden halt in the doorway, as the light began to form a shape.
After a few seconds, the light faded and a small teddy bear-looking creature with a crescent-moon mark on its forehead looked up at him. Luke could only stare back in confusion and shock.
"...Mr. Bear?"
"Ursa?"

Character History:
Here!
Character Personality:
Luke is generally very kind and sweet to other people, as he sees it as part of becoming a gentleman. From time to time, he has the tendency of being cheeky, especially towards a person he sees as rude. He usually speaks his mind freely, which sometimes gets him scolded by Layton. He also has a tendency of acting before thinking, especially if he‘s suspicious of someone, such as when he tried to attack Inspector Chelmey thinking that he was the evil Don Paolo in disguise. Despite his brashness, he always tries to help someone if they need it.

Whether or not the animal reacts kindly to him is a different matter, because sometimes the animal will lash out at him no matter how nice he is to it. Nonetheless, he’ll always try to reach out to an animal that needs help.
Since Unwound Future, Luke has matured a little. He's become more confidant, going as far as calling himself a "whiz" at puzzles. Not only that, but he's more outspoken and will jump in conversations more often. Luke also is more independent, trying to take charge of a situation rather than letting the Professor decide for him, and will even argue back with the Professor if he doesn't agree with something. But what's probably the most noticeable is that Luke is more blunt than he was before, even to the point where he comes off as downright rude and the Professor ends up having to scold him for it. But on a positive note, the boy has learned to become a little more bold and even braver then he was in previous games.
Character Abilities you would like to expand on further:
Doesn’t really have any, other than he can talk to animals. He's also very good at solving puzzles.
Character Weaknesses you would like to expand on further:
Perhaps the biggest weakness Luke has, and one that would be a major disadvantage in a Soul Eater universe, is Luke's fear of the supernatural. More specifically he's terrified of ghosts, even the mere mention of them will make him stutter. Vampires as well, but anything supernatural will immediately set him on edge and make him reluctant to keep going, making him difficult to deal with.
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
What abilities will your character retain in Soul Campaign? Being skilled in reading the body language of other animals and other nonverbal signs that the animal is happy, distressed, angry, etc.
What weaknesses will your character lose or gain in Soul Campaign? Luke will continue to have a heightened, paralyzing fear whenever he comes into contact with ghosts.
The wish Death the Kid made to the BREW in 2009 was to “rescue Death City and stop the waves of Madness from overtaking the world.” By whatever means necessary. Pretend you are the BREW. Why would you choose to bring this character to Death City?
Despite his young age and small size, Luke is quick-witted and agile. Being the apprentice to Professor Layton means that Luke always has to be ready to examine a situation from all angles and think critically about his situation. In other words, Luke is very bright and observant, finding clues where others would overlook them. In addition to this, he's surprisingly athletic as he was once able to climb up a mobile robot the size of a castle without falling off or getting crushed.
[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]
Why is your character a Weapon and not a Meister?
Luke has always been more of a support then the one to go charging into battle. As a Meister he would be too weak to actually wield a weapon, and due to his cautious nature he's more of someone who'd rather hide then fight. However, as a Weapon he'd be much more useful assisting his Meister, offering a strategy and being able to analyze the situation from the sidelines rather then rushing into the heat of battle himself.
What is your character’s Weapon Form? Why?
Luke will be a Demon Boomerang, as it's an item he owns in canon. His weapon form will look like the traditional, V-shaped boomerang. His boomerang form will come with four puzzle locks ranging from easy to very difficult that can be solved at any time, and by solving each one it will further deepen the bond between Luke and his Meister, forming a stronger resonance with each puzzle that's solved.
What is your character’s Weapon Ability?
Luke's main ability will be a wind slashing attack that will be launched towards the enemy whenever Luke is thrown. The power of this slashing attack will increase as Luke grows as a weapon. As a weaker ability, Luke will be able to scope the enemy for open or weaker points (if that's not okay though, just the wind slash will be his only ability).
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Describe your character’s soul with six adjectives.
Polite, insecure, naive, intelligent, curious, emotional.
What does your character’s soul look like? Be creative.
Luke's soul is round, light blue with a very cheerful expression. The outline of his blue cap can be seen on top of his soul's "head" as well as a very noticeable ducktail in the back.

The last thing Luke remembered was the clock shop. He, the Professor, and everyone else who decided to come along, were traveling to future London via the time machine. He must've hit his head, because he didn't remember the clock shop being so dark. But as he slowly rises to his feet, he realizes this is most definitely not future London. Squinting through the darkness, he could see two large statues covered in chains. It looked like a huge fight had broken out here. Maybe this was the Family's doing?
"H-hello? Professor? Flora? ...Inspector Chelmey? If anyone's here, please answer me!"
Luke mentally kicks himself, knowing that if he did end up somewhere with the Family's goons nearby, it was definitely a bad idea to announce he was here. But he couldn't help himself, this place was giving him the creeps and he was admittedly afraid. What would the Professor usually say in situations like this? Gentleman must always keep calm and not panic. Right. Not even if this place were filled with thugs or - even worse - ghosts or vampires. He shakes his head, of course that would be ridiculous since there were no such things. Although this place would be the perfect setting for some kind of haunted-
No, cut it out, Luke! We have to stay calm here! Taking a deep breath and trying to get his fear back under control, the young boy takes note of his surroundings. Even after calling out to the Professor, much to his dismay he seemed to be alone here. On the bright side that meant he wasn't about to get jumped by thugs either. What he did know is that he didn't want to spend a second longer in this creepy room, so as soon as he spots the set of doors, he quickly hurries towards them and bolts, hoping he'd met up with the Professor and the others very soon.

Background:
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Personality:
Luke is generally very kind and sweet to other people, as he sees it as part of becoming a gentleman. From time to time, he has the tendency of being cheeky, especially towards a person he sees as rude. He usually speaks his mind freely, which sometimes gets him scolded by Layton. He also has a tendency of acting before thinking, especially if he‘s suspicious of someone, such as when he tried to attack Inspector Chelmey thinking that he was the evil Don Paolo in disguise. Despite his brashness, he always tries to help someone if they need it.
Abilities: Aside from being very talented at solving puzzles, Luke also has the ability to speak with animals.
